Baby Dress Weather Support

These are general guidelines only. Always check your baby's chest or neck to confirm they're comfortable. Every baby is different—some run warmer or cooler than others.

Sleep Mode

What is TOG?

TOG (Thermal Overall Grade) measures how warm a sleep bag is. Higher TOG = warmer.

  • 0.2–0.5 TOG: Hot weather / warm rooms
  • 1.0 TOG: Mild temperatures
  • 2.5 TOG: Cool rooms
  • 3.5 TOG: Cold rooms

What room temperature is safe for baby sleep?

The NHS recommends keeping the room between 16–20°C (61–68°F) for safe sleep. The app will warn you if the temperature is outside this range.

Why no hats during sleep?

Babies regulate temperature through their head. Covering it during sleep increases the risk of overheating, which is a SIDS risk factor.

Outdoors Mode

Why does the app need my location?

Location is used only to fetch local weather data from OpenWeatherMap. Your location is never stored or shared.

What if the weather seems wrong?

Tap the refresh button to get updated weather. The app uses "feels like" temperature, which accounts for wind and humidity.

Can I manually enter outdoor temperature?

Currently, outdoor mode uses automatic weather data only. For manual temperature entry, please use Sleep Mode.

Wardrobe

How do I add clothes?

Go to the Wardrobe tab → tap "Add Garment" → select from the catalog of clothing types.

What does "Unavailable" mean?

Mark items as unavailable (e.g., "In the wash") when they aren't accessible. The app will only recommend outfits from your currently available items.
